House Groups
Framfield Church is about people, not buildings. Yet if you do not know anyone in the church, it can seem like a lot of people! So, House groups are really vital to the ongoing life and growth of the church.
We encourage everyone to be involved.
Why are House groups so important?
Celebrating with God's family each Sunday is great, but sharing our lives and situations is hard when there are so many unknown faces around. House groups, which meet regularly in homes, are the ideal place to get to know each other.
Why are House groups the answer?
House groups are about our relationship with God and with others. In smaller groups, trust and friendship are established. We are able to give and receive prayer. It is also an opportunity to discover and use the gifts God has given us, welcome newcomers, have fun together and generally look after one another. In short an excellent way to become involved in the heart of things: focusing on God and being strengthened by the love of those around us.
What happens in a House group meeting?
Group Leaders organise their meetings along the following lines
- Worship and Praise;
- Praying for each other;
- Studying God's Word and discussing how this is relevant to our lives today.
Can anyone get involved?
House groups are for those who feel Framfield Church is the church for them at this time and also for those without a church affiliation who are exploring Christianity.
If you are not sure about the Christian faith but would like to know more, we would recommend the Alpha course to you.
See the Alpha page for more details.
Where and when do house groups meet and who runs them?
There are three terms of group meetings during the year, corresponding roughly to the school terms. Needless to say, perhaps, hot or cold drinks and biscuits are invariable accompaniments! In most terms, one or more social occasions are arranged in each Housegroup. There are currently four (five?).
